Translation

Translate messages automatically in both directions, or translate individual messages on-demand to communicate effectively with international visitors.

Auto Translate

The Auto Translate button in the chat toolbar lets you configure automatic translation for both directions of the conversation — independently. Click the button to open the language selector, which has two sections:

  • Outgoing — Translates messages you type before they are sent to the visitor
  • Incoming — Automatically translates visitor messages as they arrive
You can set only one direction, both at once, or neither. Each direction is fully independent.

Outgoing Translation

When an outgoing language is selected, every message you send is automatically translated into that language before delivery. The original text appears below the translated message so the visitor can see both versions.

Outgoing auto translation is skipped for private notes — only public messages are translated.

Incoming Translation

When an incoming language is selected, visitor messages are automatically translated into your chosen language the moment they arrive — as if you had manually clicked "Translate" on each one.

This is useful when your visitor writes in their language (e.g. Hungarian) and you want to read their messages in English without translating each one by hand.

How to Enable Auto Translate

Open the selector

Click the Auto Translate button in the chat toolbar above the message input.

Choose your outgoing language

In the Outgoing section, select the language you want your messages translated into before sending. Leave it on Original to send messages untranslated.

Choose your incoming language

In the Incoming section, select the language you want visitor messages translated into as they arrive. Leave it on Original to receive messages untranslated.

Start chatting

Both settings take effect immediately. You can change or clear them at any time during the conversation.

On the mobile app, tap the Auto Translate button above the input area. A bottom sheet opens with Outgoing and Incoming tabs — switch between them to set each language. You can also reach this from the action menu (hamburger icon) under Settings → Auto Translate.

Translate Individual Messages

You can also translate any single message on-demand without enabling auto translate.

How to Translate a Message

  1. Look for the translate button that appears below each message bubble
  2. Tap it and select your desired language
  3. The message is translated and displayed in the selected language

Viewing the Original

  • Tap the translate button again or press X next to the language label to revert to the original text
  • The original message is always preserved
Language Detection — The system automatically detects the source language of each message for accurate translation results.
